Creativity is Contagious...

“Creativity is contagious. Pass it on.”
— Albert Einstein

So I have finally found the world of Pintrest...I haven't decided yet if this is a good thing, a bad thing, or a really great/awesome/fabulous thing. :)  Let's just say that I have gotten lost for 3-5 hrs at a time on my days off, pinning things on my boards to my little hearts content.

So what exactly is Pintrest? Well....
Pinterest is a virtual pinboard. Pinterest allows you to organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. You can browse pinboards created by other people to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests.

People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and share their favorite recipes.

I have come up with a lot of brilliant home decorating ideas, organizational tips, recipes to try, photos to take, and a general collection of just "stuff that makes me happy to look at" The ideas I am most excited to try are...

Kitchen Wall "Command Center" with monogram

Wood letters glued on canvas and then painted

Vinyl Decals on Framed Glass

Tissue Paper and Clear Vases (interchangeable for other holidays)

Three Safe-to-Eat dips: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Sugar Cookie Dough, and Cake Batter.
Recipe  to be made for our next food day at work

Sheets stored in their pillow cases (Why have I never thought of this??!)

A Love for Scentsy

I have a new found love for a product called Scentsy  A simple warmer that melts YUMMY smelling wax.  With no flame, smoke, or soot, the Scentsy wickless candle system is a safe way to enjoy Scentsy fragrances. So how does it work...

Step 1: Plug it in. Turn it on.

Step 2: Place one or more sections of a Scentsy Bar into the warmer dish

Step 3: Enjoy!

It's that simple! My love started when I got a new lead at work that sells the product.  She brought her samples in..and I was instantly hooked!

My first order came packaged so pretty!

I ordered a full size system that consists of 1 Large Warmer and 3 Bars of your choice!  I also purchased a 2nd Warmer and an additional 6 Bars!  (Flavors include Coconut Lemongrass, Paradise Punch, Welcome Home, Groovy Grapefruit, Honey Pear Cider, Radiance, Simply Irresistable, Clean Breeze, and Thunderstorm)

I ordered "Fizz" a modern design with circles on a basic bone white warmer that glows from within

I also purchased a second warmer which was "Satin Black"

Scentsy comes in over 80 flavors with warmers coming in 3 sizes Full size, Mid size and Plug in.

Scent categories are sure to please anyone ranging from Favorites, Spring/Summer, Romance, Scentsy Man, Spa, Corner Cafe and Tropical.

Not only do they carry bricks, and bars of your favorite scent, you can also purchase Room Sprays, Scent Circles, Travel Tins and fragrance foam.

They also offer special warmers and scents of the month! (Sold at a discount!)

July's warmer of the month "Cupcake"
 (Seriously...So cute!!)

July's fragrance "Happy Birthday"
(Smells like Birthday cake!)

I love this product so much I just placed a second order of 6 more scents!
(Cranberry Mango, Mediterranean Spa, Route 66, Mums and Marigolds, Perfectly Pomegranite and Autumn Sunset)

Take a look (and a smell from your local consultant) you won't be sorry!

Gray...The New Neutral??

A color mix described between Black and White. Gray is gaining popularity as the new neutral.  It looks good with almost any color and ranges from cool to warm tones, and looks great with everything from home accents to walls.  A Better Homes and Gardens article that I had once referenced here showing my love of home decor also caused me to bookmark a few pictures for future reference.

I love how this classic gray coats the walls and the black bed frame really pops against the cream rug...although I wouldn't use orange as my accent color... I love the pop of color on a neutral background and the touch of glamour with the mirror.

This gray-blue hue is also very soothing and would be ideal for a bedroom or also a "spa" like bathroom I love the contrast between white moldings and dark woods in this setting.

Neutral colors and natural materials make up this calming room.  It just looks so inviting from  the linen headboard to the velvet coverlet and the leather bench and dark wood night stands "Soft gray walls almost shimmer with creams and whites"

And a few more that I pulled from HGTV's website

Inspired by Decor

I have been looking online for home decor inspiration and came across this living room that I absolutely fell in love with.

I love the dark gray walls, the big mirror, and the dark wood table, and the gray chair cushions really help tie everything together. I love that it is a formal dining space, but not over the top. (I would purchase a rectangular table over a round though!)

Being a recent newlywed, our wedding gifts included new formal place settings of china (Noritake "Platinum Wave") I love this china for the silver border, I love the swirls, and I love that it's fairly simple and not to busy. I have been looking for inspiration on how to decorate and coordinate with my new pattern and this room just spoke to me...I could totally see my china on the table in that room!

Another photo in an online gallery that inspired me, was of this silver/gray skirting. It's a nice way to store items out of sight. I do eventually want a buffet over of a large hutch for storing my china, but until I can find a piece I love this could work. I love the silver mirror, (and recently purchased a similar one from TJ Maxx!) Candlelight in formal spaces is another necessity, and these candles are no exception! I have been on the lookout for formal silver or grey candles with no such luck...my search continues.
