Mallory (7 Months)

7 Months Old

2.17.13

-Weighing 16.5 lbs

- Wearing 6 month clothes and Size 3 diapers

- Have been eating a consistant diet of Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, Squash, Bananas and Rice Cereal (Daddy wants to wait to introduce more fruits..so you won't be a picky eater like mom)

-Hated Avocados

- Consuming 5- 5.5 oz of milk per feeding

- You helped celebrate Mom's 30th Birthday. You and daddy planned a surprise party for me with all our friends (and your baby friends) and Grandma and Grandpa came down from MN too!! (blog post to come)

- You have learned to sit up unassisted and do pretty well sitting on your own.

- You love to stick your tongue out. We got your 6 Month pictures taken and your tongue was out in almost every one of them

- You love your jump- jump! Especially now that you can touch the ground, and don't need the extra pillow under your feet

- You love "your baby", Sophie and your pink ball with all the holes in it.(so you can stick your tongue through the holes)

-You celebrated your First Valentine's Day! You even got Valentines from the other kids at daycare

- We decided to start Sleep Training (Friday 2.15) It was a long weekend with President's Day on Monday so we were prepared to Cry it Out (CIO) and not get any sleep. After putting a thread out on Facebook asking other moms for tips and tricks I decided to try a routine. (which we kind of had, but modified it a bit) After getting home from work, and feeding you 2 cubes of Sweet Potato we gave you a bath, put some bedtime lotion on, put on a "Baby Dry" diaper, put jammies on, and nursed you. I put you down just before 8pm and waited for my "baby alarm" that normally sounds between 11:30 and 1:30. Nothing! I woke up to go to work the next morning shocked that you didn't wake up! I thought I dreamt the whole thing! Repeat next night...same thing! Success! No tears, happy parents..happy baby. You made it 6 nights without waking up. But have routinely been sleeping through the night from here on out

-  You love to grab and pull..hair and beards included

- You are now very ticklish under your arms and down your sides.  You giggle at this and we giggle at your squeals.

- You LOVE bathtime. We now introduced this as part of your daily bedtime routine. (Before you were bathed 3-4 days a week. You love to splash and sit up "in the deep end"  we are still using the infant tub
