I saw a 12,000lb potato today!

The Idaho Potato Commission is ready to celebrate their 75th year of promoting Idaho® Potatoes in a BIG way...

We grow 'em big in Idaho (postcard graphic)

The biggest name in potato history! For our diamond anniversary, we're taking our show on the road with an updated, larger-than-life version of the classic Idaho® Potato postcard— the world's largest spud, placed on the flatbed of a very cool semi-truck. This is HUGE!

The Famous Idaho® Potato Truck will tour the country from coast to coast in 2012, stopping in cities of note, local grocery store parking lots, and at special events. Keep your eyes peeled for the one-and-only gigantic Idaho® Russet—our not-so-little way of reminding America that Idaho is the biggest thing to happen to the humble potato since bacon bits and sour cream!

Trivia. This Tater...

  • would take more than 10,000 years to grow.
  • weighs six tons (12,130 pounds), which is equal to 32,346 medium-sized Idaho® potatoes.
  • is 1,102 times heavier than the largest potato ever grown,
    which weighed 11 pounds.
  • would take 2 years and 9 months to bake.
  • would make 30,325 servings of mashed potatoes. Pass the gravy!
  • would easily make over 1,500,000 average-sized french fries.

Here at our local Hen House this morning

Kraft Homestyle Macaroni and Cheese

So if you know me..you know my love for macaroni and cheese. :) Well... Kraft has a new product out, that I found at my local grocery store for "Homestyle" Creamy Parmesan Alfredo.  And let me tell you, for it being from the folks that make the "blue box stuff" (which I still love!) This seemed more "adult" and "homemade" so I had to give it a try.

With just a few more steps then the boxed variety it was ready in about 20 minutes.  Boil noodles, add seasoning and milk and return to a boil to thicken, add cheese sauce and stir through while heating to melt, add noodles and serve.

Real creamy Alfredo sauce mixed with chunky elbow macaroni noodles and a sprinkling of grated parmesan cheese on top! I loved it from the first bite. YUM!!  It also comes in Hearty Four Cheese and Classic Cheddar.  I will definitely be buying this bag again!

Hillbilly Wedding Cake

While searching Facebook today... I came across a friend who made a comment on a local bakers website. The bakery is called Buttercream Dreams and this Hillbilly wedding cake came up!  I thought this was the most clever, redneck and awesome thing... I can honestly admit, I have never seen anything like it!  I may have to remember this for a certain someones birthday next year!!

Frozen Pouches by Dailys
Grab a handful! These pouches go right from the store to the freezer…and come out as something truly unique. The taste, consistency, and refreshment of a frozen blender drink…without the blender…the clean-up…the noise! You rip open the top and pour a slushy cocktail, into your glass, or right into your mouth.
