How Does It Work?
The laser is passed over the skin, and light energy is absorbed by dark pigment in hair follicles beneath the skin, disabling hundreds of hairs at a time. The proper selection of the optimal laser, depending upon hair and skin type is imperative.

Laser hair removal is something that I have always wanted to do. Shaving is something that no one enjoys and I figured with summer right around the corner why not make it easier! So after purchasing a packaged deal of 6 sessions for $99 from Groupon (Retail price originally $600!) I headed to the med spa to start my underarm treatments.
I got fabulous results after my very first session, and was very eager to go back for my follow up sessions. I was very nervous the day of my first session mostly because I didn't know how bad it was going to hurt. The tech explained to me what was going to happen and we started icing the area to numb it. She brings the machine over and starts snapping away, pulses of light and a beep every 7 seconds once the machine is ready to fire again! That easy!! I only had a few areas that made me cringe but nothing a little more icing couldn't take care of...and onto the other side. After about 5 minutes in the office I was done! That easy!! I had absolutely no reactions... no burning, rashes, irritation, swelling...Nothing!! And all I had to do was grow 3 days worth of hair and go in and have it removed in 5 minutes!
I was informed at today's appointment, that with summer coming up to stay out of the sun because tanned areas don't respond to the treatment as well as untanned skin and once I become pregnant and a have a child, with hormone levels changing, I may need to come back in for a few follow up "maintenance session" to rid of any new follicles that may have sprouted. Otherwise absolutely pain free this session today.
